-By this App, you can calculate the dose of iron injection (Ferosac).
- Must only be administered by the intravenous route only.
- must be diluted only in 0.9% sodium chloride solution.
- 100 mg Iron in max. 100 ml 0.9% NaCl solution.
- Maximum daily dose 2 ampules to be given every other day.
- Maximum weekly Dose 6 ampules.
- Pregnancy category B
- The total dosage of iron injection has been calculated from the following formula.
- [Body weight (Kg) x (normal Hb- actual Hb) x 0.24]+[500 (mg)]
- Normal Hb for pregnant woman 11.
- Test Dose: first 25 mg iron in 15 ml, if no reactions occur the remaining portion can be infused at recommended speed
- infusion speed 100 mg in at least 15 min
200 mg in at least 30 min
